Techtextil boost for Coatema

19 August 2009, Dormagen - After successfully taking part in Techtextil 2007, Coatema Coating Machinery recently exhibited at the 2009 show in Frankfurt in June and reported strong interest in its latest range of products for technical textiles.

Even in difficult economic times, Coatema says it sees that the technical textiles sector is still focussing on new concepts and that new organizations are being formed as well as dynamic networks. The company’s own experience is that Techtextil 2009 not only attracted a larger number of end users, but also many designers and engineers. It says that the innovative power of this industry sector, even in times of the economic crisis, is clearly reflected in the stable sales figures.

Coatema says it recorded a clear increase in inquiries for coating plants for yarn and filament coatings. This confirmed the company´s strategy of developing and offering new innovative plant technologies in this market segment, where Coatema can offer laboratory, pilot and production plants. Especially in the area of Prepregs, Coatema says that innovative plant layouts are being sought to be able to coat textile surfaces as well as high quality single rovings with a wide variety of resin coatings. These are ultimately processed for fibre-reinforced plastics for high-end applications.

Coatema reports that more than 100 promising customer contacts were received and that Techtextil proved itself once again to be the leading trade fair in the area of technical textiles. The company says it also plans to exhibit at the next Techtextil in 2011.

Coatema Coating Machinery GmbH is engaged in mechanical engineering for coating, laminating and printing plants for R2R applications. Coatema has been delivering coating solutions for more than 30 years for a variety of markets such as textiles, foils, paper and renewable energies. These can be small lab plants, pilot plants as well as complete turn-key production plants for the coating and laminating of R2R-substrates.

One of Coatema´s business areas, R&D Solutions, deals with services for coating and laminating. The Coatema Coating Centre is the company-owned lab with more than 10 pilot plants and one production plant with a working width of 2000mm. Another one of Coatema´s specialties is the special purpose machinery manufacture for scale-up processes in the area of New Technologies like fuel cells or nano technology.
