Development appointment at TAL

21 January 2010, Grimsby - Technical Absorbents Ltd (TAL) has announced the appointment of a new Product Development Executive at its UK based manufacturing facility. The latest recruitment by the Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF) manufacturer has been made possible as a result of the company’s programme of ongoing investment, which has been put in place to help it retain its market-leading position.

30-year old James Docherty joins TAL as it continues to push the boundaries of innovation and development within the super absorbents sector. TAL, whose core business is the manufacture of SAF at its UK production site, is owned by Bluestar Fibres Ltd, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National BlueStar (Group) Co., Ltd, which in-turn is wholly-owned by ChemChina, one of China’s fastest growing chemical groups.

Since inception in 1993, TAL says it has built strong partner relationships with some of the world’s leading specialist fibre converters, roll-goods producers and end product manufacturers. As a result of this, TAL toll manufactures nonwovens, yarns, woven fabrics and finished consumer goods, all containing SAF.

TAL says these networks have provided it with excellent connections throughout the supply chain and allow it to work more closely with the markets and respond to their changing requirements. “James will not only be involved in the testing and expansion of the current portfolio of SAF products,” explains Business Development Manager Dave Hill. “He will become an integral part of TAL’s proactive development group as the company continues to provide its customers with much valued support, industry expertise and innovative ideas and solutions.”

“This role needed a person with the foresight to capitalize on realistic opportunities within an established or new market, and with the motivation to help identify new possibilities. James’s previous development position in the homecare and pharmaceutical intermediaries sector will definitely stand him in good stead,” added Hill.
