Rieter Automotive invests in NSC Nonwoven needlepunch

29 January 2010, Farmington Hills, MI - Rieter Automotive North America, has contracted NSC Nonwoven to supply equipment for a needle punching line to produce velour carpets for the automotive industry.

The purchasing decision for the line is said to be the first in some years for the automotive industry and should provide Rieter with a competitive edge in the market. The line will include Thibeau Excelle batt formation with IsoProDyn, Asselin needle punching and the newest SDV Velour needle loom for finishing.  The new line will offer high output while maintaining minimum weight variation and improved fibre orientation for consistent strength properties.  Manufacturing equipment will be installed in Rieter Automotive’s Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania location.

Also included in the purchase is Laroche opening and blending and Signal Machine’s auxiliary equipment. All after sales service and support will be supplied via NSC USA located in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
