Santex Rimar Group, headquartered in Trissino, Italy, is looking forward to a ‘home game’ at ITMA 2023 in Milan where its six brands will be present at two stands.

The Cavitec Cavimelt Pro multi-functional coating machine will be presented for the first time at an international exhibition. The two-in-one machine features rapid switching between rotogravure and full-surface coating based on hotmelt adhesive application.

The coater is flexible enough to accommodate materials ranging from membranes of just 5 micrometres to foams of 20 millimetres in thickness and the hotmelt technology is free of both solvents and water, with no drying or sintering required.

Cavitec, Isotex, Santex, Solwa and Sperotto Rimar will be represented on a 400-square metre stand at the centre of Hall 18 (stand A110c).

Another highlight there will be the Isotex coating machine that guarantees high precision results along with waste reduction and environmental friendliness. The Santex Santashrink for the tensionless shrinking and relaxation of tubular and open-width knitted fabrics will also be displayed, along with a Compas compacting system which exploits the use of a special belt with specific elasticity values. Because water isn’t directly sprayed onto the compacting belt there is no water absorption by the processed fabric. A second plus is indirect rubber belt cooling with a totally unpolluted water recycling system.

Solwa Drywa is meanwhile the only low-temperature belt dryer equipped with a CO2 heat pump developed to make sludge management efficient and cost-effective.

2SAVE

Smit will exhibit the 2FAST high-speed weaving machine at stand B108 in Hall 10, equipped with 2SAVE – the only weft tension control system that saves selvedge at both left and right sides of the woven fabric, realising pick-by-pick sustainability through fabric waste reduction.

In practice, 2SAVE saves between 50mm and 80mm of yarn at each pick – over a metre after only twenty single picks. Eliminating selvedge waste leads to a significant decrease in raw material waste, with tangible benefits in terms of water savings for any cotton fabric, including denim.

Smit has also eliminated auxiliary cooling systems by engineering a high-efficiency brushless motor with permanent magnets for the lowest heat generation at the highest power. A further  benefit comes from a new short mechanical transmission providing the highest regularity at the lowest energy consumption. This can also be used in combination with Jacquard systems.
