JEC Europe announces winners of 2014 Innovation Awards

This year 15 companies and their partners will receive an award for their composites innovations during a special JEC Innovation Awards ceremony at JEC Europe - Composites Show and Conferences that will take place from 11-13 March 2014. “With over a hundred submissions from 28 countries, the success of the Innovation Awards Competition is in constant progress,” said Mrs. Frédérique Mutel, JEC Group President and CEO. “Never have so many high-quality applications been received, making the selection a very rich and complex process. The diversity of the subjects presented by the candidates made it very difficult for the jury of composites experts to select the 15 champions of composites innovations.”

Best composite breakthroughs

The jury has selected the best composite breakthroughs, based on their technical interest, market potential, partnerships, financial and environmental impact and originality. The decision to give prominence to these projects was based on their atypical nature and various noteworthy aspects.

In 2014, the winners broach a wide expanse of domains from raw materials to design and processes and, of course, applications. They were selected from the following categories: Design, Simulation, Process, Aeronautics, Aircraft Interiors, Consumer Goods, Consumer Electronics, Medical, Pressure Vessels, Oil & Gas, Automotive, Wind Energy, Sustainability, Railways, Marine.

Knowledge and networking

JEC is the largest composites industry organisation in Europe with a network of 250,000 professionals. JEC represents, promotes and expands composites markets by providing global or local networking and information services.

Through knowledge and networking, the JEC experts offer a comprehensive service package, including the JEC publications, such as strategic studies, technical books and the JEC Composites Magazine, the JEC Composites weekly international e-letter and the French e-letter JEC Info Composites. JEC also organises JEC Europe Show in Paris, supported by the industry.
