TCL 2016 releases updated presentation programme

The next year’s event will include presentations covering the key economic and technology trends, grouped into four main themes: the state of the industry; techniques and materials; technology for growth; and opportunities.

Presentations

Speakers will come from senior positions in some of the most influential companies in this sector from around the world. The programme already includes presentations on subjects such as sustainable lamination from a keynote speaker Michael Kamm of Sympatex Technologies.

The full programme to date can be found on the conference website. The original and most-followed conference on the coating and laminating of textiles, TCL has built a reputation for over 25 years as a vital meeting place for senior staff from the worldwide industry.

It is organised by International Newsletters (UK) and sponsored by Industrial Textiles Associates (USA) and Technical Textiles International magazine. William C (Bill) Smith, Principal, Industrial Textile Associates, (USA) is the conference chairman.

First day programme

On the first day of the conference, the programme will cover two main themes. As part of the Industry issues topic, Barry Goodwin, Managing Director, Amba Projex, will present on Coating and lamination technology - a guide to where we are going; K.S. Sundararaman, Executive Director, Shiva TexYarn, will discuss how to exploit the Indian market's potential; and finally Pelin Terekli, R & D Director, Öztek Textile Company, will introduce visitors to the coating industry in Turkey.

As part of the second session, Techniques and materials, Heinz Studer, Sales Manager, Sanitized AG, will discuss Antimicrobials with built-in marker technology; Chris McGowan, Director of Systems Sales, NDC Technologies, will focus on Advances in on-line measurement and control for optimizing coating and converting applications;

Frans Goossens, Marketing and Sales Director, Fait Plast, will explore Environmentally friendly manufacturing of light-management materials for windows; and the rest of the day will see speakers such as Clemens Disch, Area Sales Manager, Werner Mathis AG, Frederik Goethals, Centexbel, and Gizem Manasoglu, Uludag University, Department of Textile Engineering.

Second day programme

As part of the Technology for growth theme, Gary S. Selwyn, President, Green Theme Technologies, will discuss hyperbaric dry finishing technology; Fikri Alemdaroglu, Business Manager Surface Modification Daikin Chemical Europe, will focus on novel short chain (carbon C6) fluoroproducts; Gert Raeymackers, Operations Director Vetex BV, will present on the Development of solvent free textile coatings.

Other presenters include Guido Schürmann, Market Manager Coating & Laminating and Product Assembly EMEA, ITW Dynatec, Arkadiusz Borowiec, Area Sales Manager, JX Nippon ANCI SAS, and Brecht Demedts, Researcher Textile functionalisation and surface modification, Centexbel.

The fourth session, Opportunities, will feature Jeppe Emil Mogensen, MSc.Eng, PhD Candidate, Researcher at VIA Design, VIA University College, Aleksandra Lobnik, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maribor, Margreet de Kok, Senior Researcher, Holst Centre, and Bryan Rose, Vice President & General Manager, New Business Development, Cooley Group.
