The Teijin group, a leader in ultra-high performance materials, will take part in PetroWorld India 2013, India's premier exhibition for the oil and gas industry, which will take place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai from 22-24 August.

The company will present solutions incorporating high-performance aramid fibres in a wide variety of protective wear applications for the oil and gas industry.

Heat resistant and flame retardant

Teijin will showcase fabrics and garments made with the heat resistant, flame retardant meta-aramid fibre Teijinconex, a material suitable for protective clothing worn in oil and gas fields. India's increasingly strict standards for flame retardant products and heightening awareness of safety needs in the private sector, according to the company, are stimulating demand for high-performance heat and flame retardant protective apparel.

Highly resistant to heat and cutting, para-aramid fibre Twaron said to be an ideal material for protective gloves. Teijin will also showcase protective apparel combining the strong, chemical-resistant para-aramid fibre Technora.

In addition to assuring top level protection, fabrics made with advanced aramid fibres from Teijin also said to provide a wide range of features characteristic of high quality garments, including comfort, good appearance, durability and easy washing and maintenance.

Expectations

The Teijin group continues to strengthen its presence in protective apparel markets of emerging economies, where demand for high-performance materials is increasing. Last month, the Teijin group announced its development of a new meta-aramid fibre offering unprecedented heat resistance and excellent dyeability, and also the establishment of a new production facility in Thailand.

PetroWorld India 2013 is expected to attract high attendance, both domestic and international, highlighting the extensive production and distribution projects under way in India’s rapidly growing oil and gas markets.
