Hansae, a major garment manufacturer headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, has acquired the vertically-integrated US textile manufacturer Texollini.

Hansae currently exports 300 million articles of clothing annually from 12 corporations across six countries and the acquisition is part of the company’s vertical integration project in Central America.

Founded in 1989, Texollini’s plant in Long Beach, California, is is equipped with 85 circular knitting machines capable of producing one million pounds of fabric and a dye house that processes 1.2 million yards of fabric each month. The company’s product range encompasses over 4,000 unique fabrics for major clients including New Balance, Champion, Patagonia and Alo Yoga. The Long Beach location benefits from easy access to major transportation networks by road, sea, air or rail, making logistics within the US more convenient.

“By integrating Texollini’s expertise in synthetic fibre production, Hansae plans to strengthen its supply chain capabilities and address the growing trend of nearshoring in the Central American region,” said Jun Chung, vice president of strategy and planning at Hansae, said. “This move complements Hansae’s existing growth strategies, including its vertical complex in Guatemala and expansion efforts at its third clothing and textiles factory in Vietnam.”
