Bac Giang LGG Garment Corporation, Global Textile, Pro-Sports, PT Asia Pacific Rayon and PT Embee Plumbon Tekstil are among the latest companies to join the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF).

Founded in 1904, the ITMF is the international forum of the global textile value chain for producers, from fibre to finished products. Its members are from textile and apparel-producing countries representing approximately 90% of global production.

Vietnam’s Bac Giang LGG Garment Corporation has recently expanded its scale to become one of the leading garment manufacturing enterprises in the country, with six factories and nearly 7,000 employees.

“An international forum like ITMF is unique,” says Luu Tien Chung, CEO of Bac Giang. “In a global textile economy that has become more interconnected and that requires not only interaction with direct suppliers and customers but also their suppliers and customers, it is important to be part of a platform like ITMF. Increasingly more topics like compliance, traceability, sustainability and circularity require collaboration across all textile segments and across borders.”

Global Textile is one of the leading integrated textile companies in Uzbekistan, producing cotton, yarns, greige and dyed knitted fabrics. The company started production in 2018 and its factories are located near the country’s largest transportation hubs in Tashkent and Fergana.

Located in northern Vietnam, Pro-Sports specialises in both woven and knit products with 6,000 employees at four factories. Its primary focus is on producing performance, active, sports and casual wear designed for longevity and value and it has partnered with a number of global apparel brands from Europe, the USA, Canada and Asia.

PT Asia Pacific Rayon is the first fully integrated viscose rayon producer in Asia – from plantation to viscose fibre –  with a 300,000-ton capacity mill co-located in Pangkalan Kerinci, Indonesia, with its main pulp supplier Asia Pacific Resources International Limited (APRIL).

Since its founding in 1999 in Indonesia, PT Embee Plumbon Tekstil has evolved into one of the leading spinning companies in the world by continuously upgrading its technology and by conducting comprehensive training programmes, setting the highest standards in product and process development.”

2023 Conference

The 2023 ITMF Annual Conference takes place in Keqiao, China, from November 4-6.

It is co-hosted by the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) and over 500 high-level representatives from the entire textile value chain from China and around the world are expected to attend.

Under the general theme Digitalization and Circularity – Megatrends Shaping the Textile Industry experts from the industry and academia will shed light on how the textile value chain is coping with these trends to help attendees better understand the underlying dynamics and identifying the risks and opportunities. In the various sessions, experts will discuss how the fibre markets will adapt to the increasing demand for recycled fibres, how the textile industry can reduce carbon footprint, how new technologies will accelerate the industry’s transition towards more circularity and how upcoming regulation will impact production around the world.

In addition, ITMF will once again recognise the winners of the 2023 ITMF Start-up, Sustainability  and Innovation and International Collaboration Awards.

Two more events will take place alongside the conference in Keqiao – the 10th Belt & Road Textile Conference 2023 (November 2-3) and the 6th World Textile Merchandising Conference (WTMC) 2023 (November 5-6).
