DSM Dyneema and ATG, a leading provided of glove solutions, have decided to combine technology platforms using Dyneema Diamond Technology for workplace hand protection.

ATG will utilize the unique cut-resistant properties of Dyneema Diamond Technology to develop glove styles that will provide ultra-thin, cool-to-the-touch, dexterity-enhancing hand protection.

The partnership with DSM Dyneema will also apply ATG’s expertise in developing gloves with proprietary coatings, such as the company’s patented AIRtech technology platform, which is used in the highly breathable MaxiFlex range of gloves. In addition, ATG will integrate its DuraTech technology platform to reduce the cost-in-use by increasing wear life and bringing Dyneema Diamond Technology to a larger market.

Commitment to safety and standards

Dyneema Diamond Technology and DSM Dyneema’s moto to Create the World’s Safest Hands also fit well with ATG’s commitment to providing skin-friendly gloves, demonstrated through the company’s partnership with the Skin Health Alliance to ensure that all of its gloves are dermatologically accredited.

“Entering this relationship with DSM Dyneema and adding Dyneema Diamond Technology is appealing to our organization because we believe combining our glove-manufacturing expertise with the material that represents a market-leading standard in cut protection will improve workplace hand safety dramatically,” said Howard Goth, Managing Director, ATG.

“We also believe there is power in the combined strength of our companies, which are two of the most recognizable brands in workplace hand protection.”

Approach to quality control

Another key element of the ATG and DSM Dyneema partnership involves commitment to a similar approach to quality control. ATG is a fully integrated manufacturer that controls all aspects of the manufacturing process without outsourcing a single element.

With DSM Dyneema, ATG gains an equally conscientious materials partner, thus allowing the traceability of all aspects of production from polymer to final Dyneema Diamond Technology fibre production.

“ATG and DSM Dyneema are leaders in innovation. We hold ourselves to the highest sourcing, manufacturing and product quality standards, we consider sustainability a core part of our businesses and we approach business relationships as long-term partnerships,” commented Olivier Boubeaud, Global Business Director for High Performance Textiles at DSM Dyneema. “These shared commitments all serve the market of end users looking to improve hand protection and worker safety.”
