From May to July, more then 1.1 million visitors learned about Swiss traditions and Swiss developments visiting the pavilion. Bratwurst, rösti potatoes, raclette and fondue are said to be proving just as popular among the Chinese and international guests as the exhibitions and events focusing on Swiss Excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation.

Among the Swiss attractions is the innovative NanoSphere finish from textile powerhouse Schoeller Technologies. Textiles treated with NanoSphere are said to be extremely water, oil and dirt repelling, hardwearing and thanks to modern C6 fluorochemicals, at the ecological forefront.

Nanosphere treated jacketNanoSphere was developed in Switzerland by Schoeller and Clariant International (one of the Silver Sponsors of the Swiss Pavilion) in compliance with the criteria of the bluesign Standard, the stringent EHS standard for textiles. In addition to clothing, shoes and luggage, NanoSphere is used around the world in furnishings and for belts, webbing and harnesses.

The Chinese proverb, “No fear in the face of the wind and rain” illustrates to visitors the special properties of this jacket from Schoeller Textil AG with NanoSphere finish. It becomes visible as a 3D image (© element GmbH) using a special viewer (above).
