Sioen Industries reports economic recovery for Q1 2014
The Sioen Industries Group has reported growth for the first quarter of 2014, with net sales from continuing activities reaching EUR 81.5 million compared to EUR 77.5 million for the same period last year, resulting in a sales increase of 5.2 %. According to the company, almost all areas of activity of the Sioen Industries Group show signs of the financial recovery, including transportation, construction and industry in general; this can now be reflected in the sales figures.

The Sioen Industries Group has reported growth for the first quarter of 2014, with net sales from continuing activities reaching EUR 81.5 million compared to EUR 77.5 million for the same period last year, resulting in a sales increase of 5.2 %.
According to the company, almost all areas of activity of the Sioen Industries Group show signs of the financial recovery, including transportation, construction and industry in general; this can now be reflected in the sales figures.
Results
The Coating division achieved net sales of EUR 49.1 million in the first quarter 2014 compared to EUR 48.1 million in 2013, showing a sales increase of 2.2 %.
Net sales of the Apparel division amounted to EUR 23.2 million versus EUR 20.8 million in the first quarter 2013, growing by 11.7 %.
The Chemicals division also improved by 2.1%, achieving net sales of EUR 12.7 million in 2014 compared to EUR 12.5 million in the same period last year.
Outlook
Despite the positive signs of economic recovery the company experienced, Sioen Industries is to remain cautious about the future results.
