Porcher Industries will display a cockpit developed with Airbus at the Mobility Planet showcase during next week’s JEC World composites exhibition in Paris (March 4-6).
Porcher supplied the thin and light reinforced thermoplastic glass fibre material which was optimised for the vacuum bag consolidation of the part, which is easy to assemble and needs less paint and varnish to achieve the necessary finish. It can also be recycled easily, unlike thermoset alternatives.
Porcher’s new Composite Application Lab (CAL), based in Le Grand Lemps in southeastern France, is designed to accelerate innovation in textiles and thermoplastic solutions, supporting clients in creating tailor-made solutions.
Leveraging the company’s expertise in technical materials, it aims to enable the development of prototypes and small production runs and the transition to thermoplastic solutions with the vacuum bag process.
At JEC World Porcher will also be showcasing its range of peel ply textiles specifically engineered to optimise the manufacturing processes of composite parts. These benefit from exceptional dimensional stability, easy removal thanks to precise fabric tension management, and a uniform weave, promoting strong and consistent bonding.
Porcher is in Hall 5, stand U40 at JEC World.
