The event will be hosted by Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) in its International Digital Laboratory (IDL) Auditorium on 2 July and is open to all of those in the composites industry with an interest in biocomposites.
Natural composite materials
The sub-group is formed by members of the Association working in this area. It aims to advance the development and commercialisation of natural composite materials by encouraging an integrated approach in the supply chain.
By engaging academia, industry, the market and government it is expected that many of the current barriers to the wider adoption of these materials will be overcome.
Bio-based resins
This event will be the fourth Biocomposites Sub-Group event and will be the first to look at the topic of bioresins. There are a number of bio-based resins finding a use in composites manufacture, however, there are still some questions to be answered regarding cost, performance and supply. This event will address some of these challenges and move the industry forward.
Jaguar Land Rover will be joining WMG, NetComposites, AEP Polymers, AIMPLAS and the University of Southampton as speakers at the event, and will cover the role of bio-resins in automotive structures.
