Instant success for the Max Glass Eco

Short payback times in combination with high efficiency proves convincing to the glass composite fabrics market.

Karl Mayer Technical Textiles has already sold a significant number of its Max Glass Eco machines for the economical production of glass fibre composite reinforcement fabrics.

The machine, which was only introduced to the market at JEC World in Paris this March, is particularly suited to the production of non-crimp fabrics for wind blades, but can be adapted to the requirements of different application areas with various optional functions to combine short payback times with the highest efficiency. The Max Glass Eco has an hourly output of 410 running metres of fabric per metre of working width, operating at speeds of up to 1,800 insertions per minute.

A number of machines are being delivered to India, and an even larger number has been ordered by Chinese customers. Even the demonstration models in the Karl Mayer Group customer centres in Changzhou in China and Chemnitz in Germany have already been sold.

The Max Glass Eco at Karl Mayer Technical Textiles in Saxony, Germany, however, is still currently available for processing trials and performance tests until September.

“I held many discussions about this machine’s performance at Techtextil 2024 in Frankfurt and there were customers with specific purchase requests, including the Polish manufacturer Rymatex,” said Karl Mayer sales manager Ralf Schramm.

Another enthusiastic purchaser of the new machine is Owens Corning.

“ Karl Mayer has combined many proven solutions from its multiaxial machine range for the Max Glass Eco, in response to current market needs,” said Owens Corning’s Beth Dufresne, who has worked with Karl Mayer machines for many years.
