In a keynote address at the end of the 2^nd International Composites Congress in Düsseldorf on November 29th, Iris Gleicke, parliamentary Secretary of State at the Ministry, said that despite a difficult situation in Europe, Germany was still achieving solid growth, with manufacturing responsible for 24% of the country’s GDP, compared to a world average of 15% and just 11% in neighbouring countries such as France and the UK, which have moved much further into becoming service economies.
