Restructuring of Texprocess trade fair

Messe Frankfurt is restructuring the Texprocess trade fair on the organisational side. Previously part of the ‘Technology & Production’ Division, it has been transferred to the ‘Textiles & Textile Technologies’ Division. The leading international trade fair for processing textile and flexible materials has been organised by a separate team parallel to the work on Techtextil, the leading trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens. Both Techtextil and Texprocess will remain independent brands. Responsibility for the Texprocess brand will be assumed by Michael Jänecke, who has been in charge of the Techtextil brand since 1993.

The next Texprocess will be held in Frankfurt am Main from 4-7 May 2015 concurrently with Techtextil. The next Texprocess Americas will take place in Atlanta from 13- 15 May next year and run parallel to Techtextil North America.

“The organisational restructuring will generate more synergies and strategic benefits for both fairs. This will enable us to be even more efficient in Frankfurt and internationally, and make full use of our worldwide network of over 40 textile fairs,” explained Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies, who is now also responsible for Texprocess.

Successful

Texprocess has been held successfully at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre since 2011. The last edition in June 2013 attracted 330 exhibitors and over 12,100 visitors, an increase of 4% and 16% respectively over the previous event.

More than 8,100 visitors from the concurrent Techtextil came to see the range of products and services on offer at Texprocess. Altogether, the two events welcomed 1,652 exhibitors and a record 40,000 international trade visitors.

“Bundling the responsibility for Texprocess and Techtextil in a single division is the next strategic step to build on the great success already achieved by Texprocess. This double event offers exhibitors and visitors from the apparel industry and technical-textile processing companies an even better, unified platform,” said Elgar Straub, Director General of VDMA Garment and Leather Technology.
