Carpet Recycling UK (CRUK) is rebranding as the UK Sustainable Flooring Alliance (UKSFA)
“This change will better represent our commitment to the wider flooring sector which still very much encompasses carpets and textile flooring, but also resilient flooring such as vinyl and LVT,” says CEO Cathie Clarke. “Our new name reflects our broader focus and strengthens our position as the leading voice for sustainable flooring solutions. UKSFA will continue to drive innovation and champion innovative and scalable sustainable end-of life solutions, working closely with entire supply chains to reduce the thousands of tons of flooring waste generated annually in the UK.”
The rebrand comes at a pivotal time, as the trade body is helping prepare members for upcoming legislation such as the European EcoDesign for Sustainable Products (ESPR), Construction Product Regulation (CPR) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). These policies will reshape manufacturing practices and waste management by shifting the financial and logistical responsibility for end-of-life product disposal onto manufacturers and distributors.
“This rebrand is not just a name change – it marks a fundamental moment in our mission to influence policy, shape the future of responsible flooring and ensure the industry takes charge of its own environmental impact,” says Clarke. “We are committed to transformation and collaboration and delivering real sustainable solutions for the flooring sector.”
UKSFA will be exhibiting at the INDX National Flooring Show taking place in Cranmore Park, Solihull, UK, from May 13-14 to promote www.takemyflooring.co.uk (formerly www.recyclemycarpet.co.uk) under the UKSFA brand.
The formal rebrand launch will take place at the company’s annual conference and dinner (18-19 June), which is open to members and non-members.
