Devan, headquartered in Ronse, Belgium, introduced new technologies for the home textiles market including the R-Vital NTL range of bio-based and biodegradable microcapsules at the Heimtextil show in Frankfurt from June 21-24.

The company is pushing the limits of its encapsulation methods in response to increased sustainability and circularity requirements, as well as a call for greater wash durability.

The new R-Vital NTL range includes evergreen, aloe vera, waste-material-based avocado seed oil and Vitamin E and the capsules are biodegradable and free of microplastics.

As part of the Pulcra Chemicals Group, Devan is also co-launching the new Pulcra TEC-SU biobased DWR (durable water repellant) for cotton. This hydrophobic agent has a bio-content above 60%, contains no APEO or formaldehyde and retains its effectiveness after multiple washings.

Devan is also expanding its cooling range with a specific foamsolution to comply with the EU Green Deal and new circularity/recycling requirements.
