Americhem, a leading provider of custom colour and additive solutions for synthetic fibres, is highlighting its solution dye technology at the ITMA Asia + CITME 2014 exhibition that is taking place in Shanghai, China, until 20 June.

Americhem’s display will feature custom colours and additives designed for use in many high-performance textile applications.

While promoting the company’s theme of Living a Green & Colourful Life, Americhem is showcasing solution-dyed products in three key categories: awnings and outdoor fabrics, automotive fabrics and high-performance apparel.

The products for awnings and outdoor fabrics exhibit outstanding durability, thanks in part to the nDuramax line of UV stabilisers, which are designed especially for outdoor applications, the company reports.

They are said to provide a higher level of performance and extend the service life of the final article. Depending on the application, a select group of colourants are used in the manufacturing of these masterbatches.

Colour-matching service

Americhem also manufactures custom colour for automotive fabrics, providing colour-matching service with the turnaround times that are less than the industry average.

The company promotes global in-vehicle colour harmony for several worldwide original equipment manufacturers.

Dispersion technology

Relying on superior dispersion quality, Americhem’s solution-dyed colour is said to ensure enduring, colourfast properties for performance apparel. Colour can be combined with Americhem’s additives, including antimicrobials, moisture management, odour control, dye enhancement and others to provide great functional performance.

According to the company, its dispersion technology, engineered to release evenly in textile products, ensures the highest quality, even in apparel fibres much thinner than a human hair.

Other benefits include minimised pack pressure rise—translating to less downtime and higher yields—as well as consistent fibre strength for increased productivity. Americhem’s masterbatch systems are also said to allow for higher pigment loading, resulting in significant cost savings.
