The third edition of Avantex Paris, a trade show focused on the emerging market of connected textiles and apparel, will be offering a cutting edge selection of functional and innovative textiles from 12-15 September. These will also include several finished products, such as a bonnet with integrated headphones from the Taiwanese exhibitor Sound Team.
The event will also offer for its September session a platform for B2B encounters between high-tech textile companies and the designers and product managers from the leading fashion brands.
Forward-looking vision
“Avantex Paris was designed as a pathfinder trade show with a long term forward-looking vision. We are well aware that we are still in the very early stages of what is possible and feasible in the sector of innovative textiles, active materials and connected apparel,” commented Michael Scherpe, CEO of Messe Frankfurt France.
“The sector corresponds to a strong desire of the fashion industry to use technology to give today's consumers the functionalities that will creatively serve their interests on a daily basis. Avantex Paris is a new trade show in a new area. This industrial focus is just in its infancy. And while one year ago Messe Frankfurt France already covered almost all of the offering as well as a few pioneering initiatives such as FashionTech, we clearly sense that this is just the beginning of a much more inclusive project."
Cutting-edge of innovation
Avantex Paris aims to provide a practical demonstration of how experts from the haute-couture and lingerie worlds are dealing with increasingly technological textiles. The C'Couture exhibition will be showing dresses produced by the Fédération Française de la Création Couture Sur Mesure - Paris, in partnership with the exhibitors, placing the spotlight on the expertise of couture designers working with textiles that they do not usually handle.
The Fédération Française de la Création Couture Sur Mesure - Paris is an association founded in 2011 for the purpose of bringing together the key players in the profession of French made-to-measure creators to promote, transmit and preserve French know-how in this field.
The Lingerie d'Esmod class exhibition will be unveiling a variety of lingerie creations made from high-tech materials and innovative processes.
Conference Agora
Linking technology and fashion means dealing with behavioural, social, technical and commercial issues, organisers reports. Avantex Paris will be discussing the new challenges faced by the world of fashion because of technological changes, new uses and new ways of considering the way we dress, from a designer and consumer point of view.
Avantex Paris in September 2016 will be bringing together in a wide-ranging conference Agora experts who will be offering their solutions to the problems arising from these new developments.
Runway
To illustrate the intentions of Avantex Paris, the trade show that brings high-tech and fashion together has invited the designer Elisabeth de Senneville, a pioneer in this field, to show her creations on the runway.
Elisabeth de Senneville is a techno designer of fashion, deco objects and materials who since 2000 has focused her activity on textile innovation and research for fashion.
