Europlasma is a specialist in low pressure plasma technology, which is used for the coating of consumer electronics, medical devices, filtration products and functional textiles and textile products.

PlasmaGuard is designed to make wearer’s shoe, glove or garment resistant to water and dirt, while maintaining its breathability, flexibility and light weight. PlasmaGuard is a 3D-treatment applied in vacuum by dry and clean plasma technology.

Sustainable advantages

“With PlasmaGuard we not only guard your product and your body, we also guard nature. Installing Europlasma technology is putting social responsibility into practice and a significant step towards carbon neutral performance,” commented Wim Huijsman, Europlasma’s Sales Manager.

“From several case studies in sportswear we have found that our customers, by using only 1 kg of PlasmaGuard DWR chemical, they can save the world from 5 kg of traditional wet chemicals, more than 115 kg of waste water, and almost 80 kg of CO2 emission. PlasmaGuard DWR also eliminates the use of crosslinking agents, chlorides, formaldehyde, and other toxic products. Our mission is to reach the highest performance with the lowest environmental footprint.”

Recognition

The PlasmaGuard solution was recently recognised by both the Golden ISPO Award 2016 for Best Performance Footwear Component and the ITMA 2015 Future Materials Award for Best Innovation in Sportswear and Outdoor Textiles.

“After winning the ITMA 2015 Future Materials Award we are excited to get the same recognition for PlasmaGuard from ISPO. We are proud to install a technology that puts social responsibility into practice, taking significant steps towards zero discharge of water and hazardous chemicals, and carbon neutral performance,” commented Wim Huijsman.
