Invista recognized for safety excellence by national organizations

Invista has been recognized by the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) association.

Invista, a leading producer of polymers, fibres and intermediates, has been recognized by the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) association for safety excellence at its sites in Wilmington, NC, and in Orange and Victoria, TX.

Recognition

AFPM recognized Invista with the following safety awards for 2015 during this year’s National Occupational and Process Safety Conference in San Antonio:

The Meritorious Safety Performance Award, for achieving an employee total recordable incident rate of 0.6 or less for the calendar year, was awarded to Invista’s sites in Wilmington, Orange and Victoria.

The Award for Safety Achievement (Employee Hours), for accumulating one million or more employee hours without a DART case, was awarded to Invista’s sites in Orange and Victoria.

The Award for Safety Achievement (Years), for reaching one or more years without a DART case, was awarded to Invista’s sites in Wilmington, Orange and Victoria.

Chemical safety and rail transportation

In addition to the AFPM safety awards, Invista has also been recognized for chemical safety and rail transportation excellence for its performance in 2015.

Norfolk Southern Corporation recognized Invista with a Thoroughbred Chemical Safety Award for shipping more than 1,000 carloads of hazardous material over the railroad’s 22-state network without incident for the year. CSX Transportation recognized Invista with a Chemical Safety Excellence Award for shipping 600 or more railcars safely with no releases attributed to loading or unloading processes.
