Green Theme Technologies (GTT), headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has teamed up with Golden Long John, a Taiwanese-based supplier to global footwear brands, to promote the next generation of cleaner and more efficient fabric dye and finishing processes.
Last year, Golden Long John introduced GTT’s Empel waterless and PFAS-free finishing platform into its Vietnam factories and now the partnership has led to its combination with a new direct dye process.
“Similar to GTT’s Empel, Golden Long John now applies dye chemistry directly onto fabrics for much better performance with much less pollution,” explains Martin Flora, president of GTT Business Development. “We believe cleaner is better and this is a big step forward for the textile manufacturing industry which generates trillions of gallons of wastewater each year. Traditional textile dyeing and finishing rinses chemical dyes and water repellency onto fabrics and post-production toxic water is then dumped into rivers and oceans. Both our companies are now enjoying steady growth from brands such as Nike who need consistent and better performance while achieving their environmental goals.”
In November, GTT closed a $6 million Series C funding round led by investment firms Pangaea Ventures and Cottonwood Technology Ventures.
