For many people, daily life entails a constant change between indoors and outdoors, from warm to cool environments. These fluctuating temperatures and conditions can be a source of discomfort.
Melchior Textil has come up with a range of new, heat-regulating fabrics, suitable for the textile rental markets that are designed to adapt to changing temperatures. The fabric is available in a number of different weights and owes its unique functionality to smartcel clima fibre. This textile absorbs excess heat and releases it as the situation demands, providing temperature regulation in every situation.
In our daily work and leisure activities we are often subjected to rapidly changing climatic environments. Travelling by car to visit clients, we are constantly alternating between indoors and outdoors, from warm to cold conditions. These sudden, often extreme transitions can have a negative impact on our personal well-being. Melchior says its new collection of innovative, thermo-regulating smartcel fabrics is the perfect solution to this problem, balancing out the effect of temperature changes caused by fluctuations in ambient temperature or physical exertion.
Temperature control
The new product range is based on the smartcel clima fibre with heat-absorbing and distribution properties. Natural paraffin wax, incorporated directly into the fibre, absorbs body or ambient heat. On moving from a warm to a cooler environment, the stored thermal energy is released from the heat reservoir in the fibres. Melchior says the temperature at which the changeover takes place can be calibrated precisely. If the surrounding temperature rises above the fixed level, the fabric stores the excess heat. As soon as the temperature falls, the energy is released again.
“In a homogeneous blend of cotton and polyester, the fabrics provide constant temperature conditions – all day, all year round. The smartcel clima fibre also withstands repeated washing and is particularly comfortable to wear,” a spokesperson for Melchior said.
Multi-purpose fabric
According to Melchior, the smartcel range of products has the ideal fabric for every application. A 125 g/m² lightweight version was developed specifically for shirts and blouses, whereas the 280 g/m² twill is the perfect choice for trousers and jackets. A fashionable, stretch panama fabric rounds off the collection. Its combination of thermo-regulating and stretch qualities provide maximum wearer comfort.
Melchior Textil GmbH is a subsidiary of HOS Anlagen und Beteiligungen GmbH & Co., Wendlingen. The company was founded in 1997 as a sales company. Melchior Textil specialises in the manufacturing of high-quality fabrics for workwear, corporate fashion and the public sector. Melchior offers a unique range of exclusive coloured fabrics and high-grade plain fabrics under the "Erba daily perfect" label.
A selection of printed fabrics rounds off the company's portfolio. The company's continuing growth is said to be due to increased demand for exclusive workwear textiles in the German-speaking countries as well as an expansion of export business. Today, quality fabrics by Melchior Textil are marketed by independent distributors all over Europe.
