To receive this accreditation, a three-stage verification analyses is completed and based on whether chemical products and each individual ingredient meet specific requirements with regard to sustainability, safety and compliance with statutory regulations. The combined process ensures there is no harmful effect on the human and environmental health of the textiles treated.
“Microban is as dedicated to finding solutions that meet real consumer and industry needs. Having both Scentry and Scentry Revive meet the strict requirements of Eco Passport confirms our commitment to provide not only best-in-class performance for consumers and value for our brand and manufacturing partners, but also to the highest standards for sustainable and safer chemical products,” said Pablo Perella-Berdun, President, Microban International.
Easily integrated into existing dyeing and finishing processes, both Scentry and Scentry Revive are market leading odour neutralisers that fight the problem of permastink, the company explains.
Scentry, one of Microban’s original and most-used odour capture technologies, is designed to reduce odour in clothing and footwear made from polyester, Spandex and poly elastane blends more than 90% for more than 50 typical home launderings by capturing and neutralising odours within the fabric and releasing them when the apparel is laundered.
Introduced at the Spring 2018 Performance Days event, Scentry Revive’s key sustainability benefits are said to include water and energy savings through the reduced need for laundering. “Most significantly, because it prevents the odour build-up that causes consumers to discard apparel, footwear and gear prematurely, Scentry Revive effectively extends the usable life of any product treated with it, keeping items out of landfills,” the company adds.
