The Switzerland based SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler AG, the inventor of the electronic yarn traverse system, has exhibited its latest textile machinery at three exhibitions this spring, including IGATEX in Lahore, Pakistan, INDO inter Tex in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Techtextil North America in Atlanta, USA.
The company welcomed a great number of visitors and reported a successful showcase, allowing the company to meet existing customers and attract potential ones that showed interest in the company’s products. The company shared its booth with its agents and other well-known European suppliers.
Exhibitions
With assistance from the company’s representatives and supporting agents, including Makviz, Nutek and Symtech, SSM presented its innovations at IGATEX, the International Garment, Textile and Leather Machinery and Accessories Exhibition and Conference, and INDO inter TEX, International Textile and Garment Machineries Exhibition, which both took place in the end of April.
The company also exhibited at the Techtextil North America trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, which took place in Atlanta, GA, this month, co-located with JEC Americas exhibition and conference and Texprocess trade show.
On display
The brand new XENO-FW/BW winding machine, which was shown in Jakarta, has generated great attention. The new SSM modular winding machine platform XENO combines dye package winding, rewinding and doubling applications along with three different winding technologies. Complying to the growing automation demand, all the XENO machines can be equipped with an automatic doffer system.
In North America, visitors had the chance to introduce themselves to the DURO-TW, a precision winder for all technical yarns up to 50’000 dtex. The DURO platform is designed to offer a new level of flexibility and winding quality in one machine; thereby ensuring the fulfilment of all customer requirements, according to the manufacturer.
In addition to the new addition in the area of Dye Packages / Rewinding machines, SSM can also provide solutions in air texturing, false twist texturing (SSM Giudici), air covering, draw winding, assembly winding, yarn singeing, sewing thread finish winding and conventional covering.
SSM AG
The Schärer, Schweiter and Mettler companies merged in 1989 to become SSM. In 1999, Stähle-Eltex and SSM merged to develop air texturing technology and to strengthen their leadership position in the marketplace.
With HACOBA as its partner, SSM is also able to offer a complete range of sewing thread finishing machines. The company can also offer a complete portfolio for processed yarns.
In 2012, SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler has taken over the activities of Giudici, Italy. Giudici’s strong market position in the field of false twist texturing of high quality fine count Nylon yarns, an application that complements SSM’s established leadership in air texturing, will further expand SSM’s business in the chemical fibre processing industry, the company believes.
