Vertx new 2013/2014 collection features Schoeller’s coldblack technology, which is said to prevent dark textiles from heating up and provide effective protection from UV rays.
Heat management
Effective sun protection is indispensable, particularly for people who spend a lot of time outdoors. While white and other light colours reflect the sun’s heat, dark colours soak it up and feel warm.
According to the company, its coldblack provides the solution improving the heat management of textiles by reducing the absorption of sunlight, so dark colours and any type of textiles stay significantly cooler.
UV protection
Coldblack also offers an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) of a minimum of 30, the company reports. Without such protection, sunburn or, in long term, skin damage may be a hazard of extended time spent in the sun.
According to Schoeller, wearing apparel treated with coldblack not only improves general wellbeing but also guarantees effective UV protection when exposed to sunlight.
Fechheimer
Fechheimer uses coldblack for their tactical brand Vertx. The 2013/2014 collection features a long and a short sleeved polo shirt with coldblack. The shirts are available for women as well as men in five different colours.
The American company Fechheimer has been crafting uniforms for America’s military and public safety professionals for over 170 years. With the brand Vertx, Fechheimer has succeeded in producing workwear apparel that can also be worn in daily life.
The brand was created to uniquely combine a low visual profile with the superior functionality of a professional garment.
