The Lycra Company is launching its new EnviroFit stretch fibre for personal care products at INDEX 23 in Geneva this week (April 18-21).
The new fibre enables thinner yarns to be used in diapers, reducing the amount of fibre per article and helping conserve resources without compromising product performance.
“Having less mass means fewer resources and less energy are consumed during diaper production,” said Scott Blackadar, president of personal care at The Lycra Company. “This fibre will appeal to manufacturers who want to significantly reduce their product’s environmental impact and help improve its carbon footprint.”
In addition to fibres, The Lycra Company also focuses on providing solutions for the challenges its customers face and is showcasing two unique delivery technologies aimed at improving the spandex unwinding process and improving diaper line productivity.
Trio Loop is the latest yarn control system from BTSR International which in combination with Matrixcube tension controlled plug-and-play unwinding systems improves yarn tension control and adds more troubleshooting options to further improve diaper line productivity.
The Lycra Company is also the exclusive global distributor of the new and improved Type 093E Knotter for diaper production from Mesdan which eliminates manual knot tying and reduces machine stops.
