A new generation of Hybrid Warp Knit Garments for activewear will be presented to the international market during the upcoming ISPO MUNICH 2017 sports trade fair which takes place next week in Munich, Germany from 5-8 February.
Two of Italy’s best known and highly creative warp knitting companies, Eurojersey and Cifra, have joined forces to create an exclusive and unique range of activewear which brings together the companies’ patented knitting technologies and ‘Made in Italy’ flair.
Exclusive mix
With an exclusive mix of Eurojersey’s warp knitted Sensitive® Fabrics technology and Cifra’s warp knit seamless (WKS) technology, the Italian partners say their main objective, is to offer two knitting technologies to provide high performance, functional sport garments with body mapping construction.
“The resultant merging of the two technologies are hybrid products using the key synergies of two leading Italian companies Cifra and Eurojersey, with an inspiring tailored made collection where aesthetic beauty is strictly linked to function,” Cifra CEO Cesare Citterio commented.
Cifra’s WKS, warp knit seamless brings bodymapping, areas of ventilation, jacquard patterning and real seamless technology to the collection. With WKS technology, even sleeves and legs are knitted seamlessly into the garment at the knitting stage.
Meanwhile, the performance Eurojersey’s patented warp knitted Sensitive ® Fabrics give perfect shape retention even after frequent use and washing, quick drying properties and lightweight breathability. Add to that a UPF50+ ultra violet protection, exceptional comfort and customized print design and a picture emerges of high performing but beautiful range of garments.
Ultra-sonic bonding
The two technologies are connected using ultra sonic bonding to avoid any kind of the rubbing or chaffing which can be caused by conventional seaming. Ultra-sonic bonding uses high-energy vibration atfrequencies to produce a weld between two components which are held in close contact, in this case, two or more garment components.
“The idea is to join these two knitting technologies to bring functional sports garments to an entirely new and unsurpassed level,” Eurojersey Managing Director Andrea Crespi commented.
Knitting synergy
“The result are hybrid icon products that use the synergy of the knitting technologies where these two companies are the world leaders. The fusion of the technologies will open endless opportunities in the market,” Mr. Crespi added.
Sensitive® Fabrics is a well-known brand in the technical fabric sector. It is recognised the world over as synonymous with the quality and excellence of “Made in Italy”.
According to Eurojersey, the Sensitive® Fabrics brand “identifies the inimitable quality of a product made entirely and exclusively in Italy and featuring characteristics that embody Italian creativity, both for technical know-how and for its appearance and authenticity.”
Cifra is well known for its innovative approach to seamless garment manufacture using double needle bar jacquard raschel knitting machines. The Milan based company designs and produces seamless socks, tights, pantyhose and seamless garments for intimate apparel, activewear, bodyshapers, posture garments and swimwear for leading European and worldwide retailers and brands.
