Klopman, a European leader in the workwear industry, has exhibited its product range at Techtextil, in Frankfurt, last week. One of the latest innovative products presented by Klopman at Techtextil 2017, was the new K-Flame Xtra 245 softshell/ laminate, an inherently FR fabric characterised by a very soft hand, comfort and developed with a windproof and rainproof breathable membrane, the company reports. The fabric was also displayed in the special area Living in Space, which presented the latest trends of the aerospace industry.
According to the manufacturer, K-Flame Xtra 245 softshell/ laminate represents a major new offering to the market with its perfect balance of protection, comfort, strength and durability. The fabric ensures protection against heat and flame (ISO 11612), electric arc (EN 61482), welding (ISO 11611), antistatic (EN 1149-5), foul weather (EN 343) and chemical splash (EN13034 Type 6).
“With this impressive array of qualities, it is ideal for numerous end uses applications, such as the petrochemical and refinery industry, offshore (oil and gas platforms), petrol stations, the welding industry, the chemical industry, transport of hazardous goods, energy and power, the glass and ceramic industry, mining, utilities, railway, and maintenance work,” the company reports.
K-Flame fabrics
K-Flame Xtra 245 softshell/ laminate is part of the K-Flame range, fabrics conceived by Klopman to offer resistance to heat, flame and welding plus antistatic and electric arc protection. These fabrics are said to guarantee extreme durability and the maximum comfort and breathability even in hot and humid climates.
K-Flame fabrics are divided into two categories: K-Flame Pro, made with modacrylic fibre to combine maximum efficiency and performances; and K-Flame Xtra, made with aramid fibre ensuring the highest level of protection to workers.
Stretch fabric range
Klopman is also exhibiting its new stretch fabric range, created with polyester/cotton to offer greater freedom of movement and total ease of wear. The superior stretch and recover qualities also mean that garments flex and respond to movement without placing strain on their construction, which means they maintain their original shape and appearance, the company explains.
There are three ranges of fabrics to meet different needs: Star-Line, developed using Klopman’s fabric construction technology; the K-Flex line that blends the XLA fibre, an innovative and advanced elastomeric fibre; and Cool Stretch, which includes the fabrics Escalade and Lagonda produced using Lycra T400 by Invista.
