The Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress is inviting researchers, experts and manufacturers to submit papers for the 64th edition of the conference, as well as the 5th Innovation Days conference which will both take place from September 10-12, 2025 in the Austrian town.

The two events offer platforms to present research and innovations that will shape the future of the fibre and textile industries.

Submissions are invited before February 14th on the following key themes:

Protective Wear and Defence

This session will explore the growing need for lightweight, high-performance materials that provide enhanced protection against hazards such as heat, flames, electric arcs, nuclear, biological, chemical and ballistic threats. Contributions can focus on smart textiles providing real-time data for first responders, flame-resistant fabrics for multi-risk environments or sustainability in production and recycling innovations for workwear and protective apparel

Carbon Stewardship

This session will cover projects on harnessing biomass, recycling and carbon capture circular economy strategies aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the textile industry.

Fibre Innovations

Themes of interest include the development of bio-based polymers and natural fibres for textiles, packaging and industrial applications, focusing on performance, sustainability and scalability.

Also covered will be advances in textile production techniques, dyeing technologies and sustainable finishing processes, in addition to innovations in nonwoven technologies for applications in filtration, hygiene, medical textiles and construction.

Cross-Industry Developments

This session aims to foster collaboration between the textile industry and other sectors, including strategies for integrating renewable energy and improving energy efficiency in textile production, with case studies on solar, wind and bioenergy adoption.

Presentations on developments in sustainable cellulose-based fibres, the integration of recycled paper into fibre solutions and advances in eco-friendly packaging material are also welcomed.
