A major expansion of OrthoLite’s Indian plant in Ambur, Tamil Nadu, makes it the largest footwear insoles producer in South Asia, with a monthly output of two million pairs.
OrthoLite India (OIN) opened its doors in June 2021 and is one of six vertically integrated plants the company, headquartered in Amherst, Massachusetts, operates.
Through increased investments in the region which also includes a new sales office in Chennai, as well as key new hires in supply chain management and operations, OIN is meeting the needs of OrthoLite’s growing number of brand partners in the region.
Having tripled insole capacity, the Ambur plant is also now fully equipped to make leather footbeds.
In June 2023, OrthoLite appointed Vikash Bajargyan as general manager of OIN and in addition to leading manufacturing and business development, he has been instrumental in establishing new relationships with brands and Tier 1 factory partners.
“Vikash has been a strong leader in helping us grow our business quickly to meet growing demand in this important region,” said Glenn Barrett, founder and CEO of OrthoLite. “India is a thriving market both for our domestic consumers and export business.”
Of OrthoLite’s over 550+ global brand partners, 61 produce in India, and the company’s global production strategy is to align its factories and provide efficient service directly to local partners and Tier 1s.
OrthoLite is the world’s leading supplier of open-cell foam technology, and the innovator and creator of the Cirql, the range of lower impact, circular options in materials for all categories of footwear.
