Ahead of this week’s IDEA nonwovens show in Miami (April 29th to May 1st), the boards of industry associations EDANA and INDA, based in Brussels, Belgium and Cary, North Carolina, respectively, have announced the establishment of the new Global Nonwoven Alliance (GNA).

By aligning resources and expanding collaboration it is believed that the GNA will deliver a more unified and coordinated strategy in response to the issues and opportunities faced by the nonwovens industry. GNA will enable enhanced programmes and service value, reach and efficiency which will translate into increased local and regional benefits as well as driving innovation, operational efficiencies and long-term industry growth.

Under the proposed framework, INDA and EDANA will continue to operate as independent legal entities, maintaining their focus on regional markets and advocacy. They will also serve as founding members of GNA, committed to collaboration on cross-border industry priorities.

While some organisational details, transition provisions and approval timelines are still being assessed, the boards of both EDANA and INDA have expressed their strong support for the vision and purpose of the GNA.
