Tex Tech Industries, a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners, has acquired the operating assets of SGL Carbon’s plant in Gardena, California, which was formerly Hitco Carbon Composites.

The business is a manufacturer of complex, industry leading high-temperature composite materials and components with high carbon and silica purities. Its key products include rayon carbon, Refrasil high temperature insulation cloth and carbon/carbon based materials which are used in aerospace, defence, industrial and automotive applications.

“We are excited to begin our partnership with the Gardena management team and welcome them to the Tex Tech platform,” said Peter Manos, Tex Tech managing partner. “The Gardena plant is the market leader in high-temperature materials and is a highly strategic addition to Tex Tech. The acquisition expands our product offerings into the fastest growing programmes in space, defence and commercial aerospace. We have been impressed by Gardena’s long-standing relationships with highly-demanding customers and unique manufacturing capabilities, and we are eager to utilise the capabilities of the combined company to provide further value to our customers.”
