Arvis, Décor Suzhou, Rheiazymes, TreeToTextile, Violar and Wazir Advisors are among the latest companies to join the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), reflecting the full diversity of the organisation’s growing membership.

Arvis is a vertically integrated specialst in the production of terry products currently serving its domestic market in Tajikistan while expanding its export base. Global full-service apparel design and manufacturing is meanwhile carried out by Décor Suzhou which has garnered awards for it sustainable practices, innovative supply chain and expert merchandising and marketing capabilities.

Rheiazymes, based in Horgen, Switzerland, has developed  proprietary molecular biological recycling technology for synthetic yarn blends using natural enzymes and was the recipient of a 2023 ITMA Start-up Award.

So too, was Stockhom, Sweden-headquartered TreeToTextile, which is developing and industrialising a new sustainable cellulosic fibre with advanced properties.

“It is important to welcome start-up companies as new members of ITMF as they bring innovative ideas on how urgent challenges in the textile value chain can be solved,” said ITMF director general Christian Schindler. “Recycling and new cellulosic fibre options are very important areas where the industry is still looking for additional solutions that can be scaled up. Bringing well-established and forward-looking companies together with start-ups that are developing new solutions for pressing problems is an important function of ITMF. Only together and in a cooperative manner is it possible to develop sustainable and commercially viable solutions.”

Much more well established is Violar, as the oldest and largest cotton ginner and merchant in Greece, which exports to countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Finally, Wazir Advisors is a global management consulting firm based in India offering well-researched and fully analysed strategic solutions, followed by turnkey implementations, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions in the textile, garment, technical textiles and retail and consumer goods industries.

“The decision to join ITMF was easy after having attended the ITMF annual conferences,” said its joint managing director Prashant Agarwal. “This conference is unique as it is bringing together high-level industry people from around the world who discuss trends, exchange opinions and best practices and build international networks. The ITMF data that is accessible to members is also very helpful to fully grasp the evolution on a global scale.”

Founded in 1904, the ITMF is the international forum of the global textile value chain for producers, from fibre to finished products. Its members are from textile and apparel-producing countries representing approximately 90% of global production.
