Taiwan leads in eco-textiles, showcasing innovation and sustainability

Taiwan is at the forefront of eco-friendly textile production, especially when it comes to chemical fibres.

Recognising the progress made by Taiwanese textile firms in promoting sustainability within the industry, the Taiwan Textile Federation has hosted events to showcase the latest sustainable textiles and technologies from Taiwan.

These events not only highlight the innovative capabilities of Taiwanese companies in environmental materials but also underscore their competitive edge in the global market.

Through these showcases, the Taiwanese textile industry emphasises its commitment to environmental efforts and strengthens its connections with international buyers and partners, driving the earth towards sustainability. Taiwanese textile companies continue to invest in circular economy practices, eco-friendly material development, and green production processes, aiming to reduce environmental impact while enhancing product quality and market competitiveness.

Here are the highlights from the innovative products featuring the below companies:

Long Advance’s utilisation of ‘carbon capture and reuse techniques’ in their fabric range has earned them a Performance Days Award this year. Its eco-friendly materials not only possess exceptional properties exceeding 20k/20k but also meet high demand among premium brands due to their outstanding quality and hand feel.

Li Peng’s ReEcoya, incorporating colour master batch into the polymer at the outset of production enhances the colour’s longevity compared to piece dyeing. Additionally, over years of use and exposure to rainstorms, ReEcoya fabric maintains its shape and colour integrity even after numerous washes.

Grandetex’s Secao is a yarn derived from agricultural waste, specifically Cacao shells. Secao not only addresses the issue of agricultural waste but also contributes to environmental sustainability by accelerating decomposition and reducing the burden on the environment.

Tex-Ray’s revolutionary technology-Ecoloration is a brand-new patented technology that can present dyeing effect through printing without steaming process. Also, it can reduce 95% of water consumption, 90% of energy consumption and CO2 emission and  it can additionally save 50% of process time which reaches efficiency and effectiveness.
