FR Safety Yarns, an initiative of the leading European spinning company TWD Fibres, has reported that its comprehensive product range of technologically sophisticated Diolen Safe yarn qualities is gaining acceptance in various industry segments three years after the start of the product development.
Dipl-Ing Tim Huizenga, the company’s Technological Marketing Manager since 2011, has taken on the leadership of the FR Safety Yarns Marketing and Sales Department as of 1 May. He explained: “We steadily expanded our standard yarn portfolio according to our customers’ requirements.”
“Diolen Safe FR-yarns keep on gaining acceptance as well in the interior fabrics contract business, in automotive, in public transport and aviation as in technical applications. Through strategic alliances with our supplier partners we are able to respond promptly to individual customer wishes and guarantee a consistent high quality level.”
Effective support
Werner Jochum, Managing Director of Spinnerei Feldkirch, supplier of staple fibre and ring yarns, commented: “We have followed the relaunch of Diolen Safe with great interest. Generally speaking, our business doesn’t usually come from standard yarns; we tend to explore innovative niches.”
“We do not cater for the commodity area but develop high quality functional fibres and yarns in constant dialogue with our clients. In our partnership with FR Safety Yarns we are able to provide our expertise with regards to staple fibres at eye level so to speak. I expect this cooperation to open new customer segments especially in technological areas.”
FR Safety Yarns provides their customers with comprehensive advisory services and technical support also when it comes to specialties. B2B customers receive individual marketing support – from flammability standard tests and certificates for all FR fabrics submitted to licensing via marketing cooperation initiatives.
Broad portfolio
The Diolen Safe FR range comprises a broad portfolio of different yarn counts as well as all customary yarn qualities. It is available as air-and friction-texturised filament yarn, as staple-fibre yarn and fancy yarn, in coarse white, spin- and bath dyed, in a variety of commercially available yarn counts and numbers.
Through a number of complex test arrays the product range of standard and effect yarns for the contract business has been significantly expanded during the last years. In addition to air-texturised taslan yarns with mouliné effect, for example, and about 12 different chenille yarn qualities, FR Safety Yarns distributes texturised and staple-fibre yarns with an unusually broad standard colour range.
According to the manufacturer, its Diolen Safe yarns are produced in line with the Cradle to Cradle guidelines, are friendly to the skin, and free from heavy metals and halogens.
