A commercially focussed symposium which addresses the issues of entering and expanding in the advanced nonwovens market, will take place from 7-8 March 2017 at the Hotel Novotel Praha Wenceslas Square, in Prague, Czech Republic.

Presentations

The conference aims to bring together senior managerial, technical and marketing staff from nonwovens manufacturers, suppliers to the industry, converters/finishers, product designers and processors, application sector OEMS, researchers and end-users from all around the world to discuss progress and possibilities.

Next year’s symposium will feature presentations under the following five session headings:

  • Performance nonwovens – why and how?
  • Pioneering applications – pushing the limits of possibility
  • Game-changing process technologies
  • Finding the right market from a wealth of applications
  • New materials, new opportunities

Programme highlights

On the first day, highlights include a keynote presentation from Detlev Käppel, of Tenowo, who will present on the topic entitled How a traditional German textiles company transformed itself into a 21st Century leader in engineered nonwovens and technical textiles, and a plenary talk from Innventia’s Hjalmar Granberg on Nonwovens for energy storage. An overview of recent developments in the production technologies for nanofibres for high-performance nonwovens will be presented by Stanislav Petrik, of Institute for Nanomaterials, Technical University of Liberec.

On the second day, the keynote presentation by Michael Effing, Chairman of the Board, Composites Germany, Chairman of the Board, AVK, Founder and CEO of AMAC GmbH, will be dedicated to the question of How Europe's booming composites markets create new opportunities for fibre-based reinforcements.

New materials and new opportunities will also be discussed by companies like Technical Absorbents, Daikin Chemical Europe, and research facilities like ITA, Institute of Textile Technology, RWTH Aachen University, and Saxon Textile Research Institute (STFI e.V).

Feedback

The previous two conferences proved a great success with those who attended, with very good feedback and comments from both delegates, exhibitors and speakers, according to organisers.

"The speakers and content they shared were very relevant to the challenges we face as an industry.  Furthermore, the explanation of potential high performance NW opportunities and chance to network also made this event meaningful,” commented one of the visitors.

"A good platform for meeting, learning and discussing new opportunities for NW in various markets. I went back with lots of new ideas,” said another visitor.
