Techtextil North America highlights special features

Visitors can expect to see leading technical textile and nonwoven companies from around the world showcasing the latest products and technological advancements.

Techtextil North America 2015 has exceeded pre-show expectations, recording over 150 exhibitors from more than 16 countries coming to represent around 100 product categories to Houston, Texas during the premier three day technical textile event in the United States that is scheduled to take place from 2-4 June.

Visitors can expect to see leading technical textile and nonwoven companies from around the world showcasing the latest products and technological advancements in textiles, nonwovens and composite materials.

Exhibitors from US and Canada

American Cord & Webbing, with production factory in Rhode Island, manufactures a complete line of commercial, military, and specialty products. Specialty products are produced from Kevlar, Nomex, nylon and polyester yarns.

FUJIFILM Dimatix Technology Integration, USA, works with industry visionaries on the development of highly customized, turn-key systems for jetting a variety of fluid including textile inks, food grade fluids and conductive fluids.

Canadian Texel has become a specialist in needlepunch technology and the transformation and finishing of nonwoven materials for numerous applications.

With the acquisition of Uretek and Archer Rubber, US based Trelleborg Engineered Fabrics is showcasing its newly extended and strengthened product range. The offering now consists of industry leading polymer coated materials with capabilities including: heat sealable, chemical and radiation protective, abrasion, tear and water resistant, and more.

NASA Johnson Space Center: NASA conducts work in aeronautics, science, space technology, human space exploration, and operations. The Johnson Space Center is the centre for human spaceflight training, mission operations and flight control. It is also the centre for flight-related scientific and medical research, as well as space suits and astronaut clothing.

German pavilion

The German Pavilion is a must-see feature area on the show floor as over 15 German companies will be represented.  Some of them include:

DST Technical Coatings – a specialist in coating, laminating and impregnating of textile tailor-made solutions for international customers. The company serves fireproof and fire retardant products made of silicone, organic and inorganic compounds, aluminium and stainless steel foils, double mirror and fluoropolymer films for aviation, automotive, marine, constructive and industrial use to protect and save.

ECKART produces smart textiles from optical effects to functionality, and offers a wide variety of pigments for thrilling visual effects for automotive, home appliance, and architectural applications.

IBENA Technische Textilien’s core business is home and industrial textiles. It covers a variety of different industries and applications, including protection and safety, car, filtration, scenery, digital printing, and laundry.

Maschinenfabrik Herbert Meyer builds machines, laminating, and coating machines, as well as thermoforming and moulding lines. Its specialty is to bond, laminate, calibrate and mould different materials with heat and pressure.

Rex Industrie-Produkte, Graf von Rex produces a great variety of high technological, innovative, and temperature resistant materials for the areas of heat protection, fire protection, as well as heat, cold and sound insulation.

Symposium sessions

Techtextil North America is hosting a 10th session Symposium presented by industry experts throughout the Technical Textile and Nonwovens industry.

Session topics include: New Fibre Technologies (basic and advanced), Medical, Protective, Smart Textiles, Aerospace, Tensile Structures, Nonwoven Advancements, Raw Materials & Sustainability, and the Graduate Student Poster Program.

Graduate Student Poster Program and Job Center

The second annual Graduate Student Poster Program will feature current graduate students to present their research to industry professionals on the show floor. The top five posters chosen from industry judges will be presented during the symposium on 4 June.

The Job Center is located on the show floor with the Poster Program. Visitors have the ability to explore through the current job opportunities available from current exhibitors on the show floor.
