Isko’s new R-TWO50+ yarns consist of a minimum of 50% recycled fibres created by a patented new spinning process.
Engineered for reductions in emissions, water, resources and waste, the yarns can create strong and durable fabrics with excellent shape recovery, a soft cotton hand feel and quick drying properties.
R-TWO50+ fabrics have Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification, which provides standardised verification for recycled materials.
“We are extremely proud of R-TWO50+ and our advancements that open up a new frontier of responsible innovation,” says Isko’s head of sustainability, Ebru Özküçük. “Our vision goes beyond just using low impact materials and extends to our culture and systems. We believe that in order to make a credible and comprehensive industry roadmap towards sustainability, the carbon footprint must evaluate that the products, and also the processes, are executed responsibly. This is the only way to try and eradicate greenwashing.”
ISKO has also been early in achieving an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) scoring, which measures the sustainability and societal impact of its operations.
