Prestigious Italian woollen mill Lanificio Cerruti is taking delivery of thirty new weaving machines from Itema at its Biella manufacturing plant.
The new machines will increase production capacity and overall manufacturing efficiency, while further enhancing fabric quality and process sustainability.
After a considered market assessment, Cerruti opted for Itema R9500 rapier machines as a result of their economic energy consumption and raw materials usage, their delicate treatment of the yarns which leads to raw materials savings and quality improvements, and ergonomic features that simplify and protect operators. Remote monitoring will also allow the company to minimise interruptions and failures.
“This partnership is evidence of our strong commitment to an increasingly positive impact on the planet, since at Lanificio Cerruti sustainability means looking ahead using the best available technology,” said president and CEO Filippo Vadda.
“This is not just a technological partnership, but the beginning of a co-development journey that will allow us to design and implement solutions of great value.” added Ugo Ghilardi, CEO of the Itema Group. “Together we will give prestige to Made in Italy creativity and innovation which are admired all over the world.”
The new Itema weaving machines will be installed in the Lanificio Cerruti plant starting from March.
