Freudenberg Apparel is launching two advanced thermal insulation products made from low-level Bisphenol A (BPA) recycled PET fibres
Down Feel WA 150LB and Fibreball WB 400LB are new alternatives to down being added to the company’s comfortemp range.
Down Feel WA 150LB is an extremely-lightweight, loose fibre thermal insulation with a super-light loft, while Fibreball WB 400LB uses clusters of extra-fine fibres to offer optimal breathability, maximum comfort and minimal clumping after washing and drying.
Both products use 100% GRS-certified rPET fibres, customisable to desired fill levels and also surpass the stringent Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class I certification.
While Oeko-Tex categorises low-level BPA as less than 100 parts per million (ppm), these new products contain less than 1 ppm BPAs.
“Our commitment to customers and sustainability aligns with market expectations for safer, responsible products while maintaining quality and performance,” said Merry Chen, head of global R&D and product compliance. “These new products exemplify this commitment.”
Freudenberg has also added HO 80xR – a new thermal insulation made from 70% recycled polyamide 6 – into its comfortemp European range.
