Brussels, 29–30 March 2012
The 7th Annual Public Conference of the European Textile Technology Platform will take place on 29 – 30 March 2012 in Brussels. The scope of this one-and-a-half-day event will be to present and discuss how future EU research, innovation and industry policies and programmes can better support the research and innovation efforts of the more than 140,000 small to mid-sized companies in the EU textile and clothing sector.
The event will be a showcase of numerous collaborative research-industry projects and the impact their results had or are expected to have on the competitiveness and prospects of innovating European textile and clothing companies.
Speakers will include EU officials from DG Research & Innovation and DG Enterprise & Industry in charge of preparing future SME research and innovation support programmes.
Objectives and results of 27 FP7 textile research projects will be presented mostly by industry speakers. A panel discussion between EU representatives and managers of textile SME’s will address directly and openly the most crucial issues to increase industry participation in EU programmes.
The event will be directly followed on the afternoon of 30 March by the 3rd annual dissemination event of the CrossTexNet project, the first textile-related ERA-Net project which will soon launch its 3rd call for proposals. The event will take place at Husa President Park Hotel in Brussels.
