Advances in absorbent hygiene and personal care products that are smarter and more sustainable for a healthier future will be presented by industry-leading experts presenting live at Hygienix 2021.

INDA reports enthusiastic participant registration to attend the in-person event taking place from November 15th-18th, at The Westin Kierland in Scottsdale, Arizona. Registration remains open.

The program will delve into such topics as new options for a end-of-life, product and process innovation in absorbent hygiene products (AHPS), haptics and approaches to assessing feel, and e-hygiene advancements.

Notable speakers include Susan Thoman, principal and managing director at the Compost Manufacturing Alliance. Attendees will learn about the latest issues related to composting hygiene and personal care products including labelling and other emerging legislation and material challenges.

Nick Carter, vice-president of marketing for Avgol, and DeeAnn Nelson, the company’s research and development and innovation manager, will introuce  biotransformation technology in polyolefin fibres and nonwoven fabrics, examining waste single-use articles in the environment, recycle-friendly, biologically-sourced colourants and other aspects of sustainability.

Executive director of The Nonwovens Institute Behnam Pourdeyhimi will be joined by other leaders in haptics assessments in discussing the use of data and analysis to develop products that have the tactile feel consumers desire.

An intriguing session on smart sensors will be led by consultant Olaf Isele, exploring how modern absorbent hygiene products are becoming electronic information systems for tracking the wellness of babies and incontinence among senior populations using smart devices.

In addition to the in-person conference, the event will feature two nonwovens workshops, a welcome reception, opportunities for 60 tabletop displays with receptions, 30 presenters engaging in eight moderated panel discussions, as well as the Hygienix Innovation Award and the INDA Lifetime Service Award.
