Microban International, a leader in textile odour control and prevention, will be featured on FabricLink’s webinar series discussing the topic: Identifying Odour Control Myths—Solutions, Standards and Testing Pitfalls. The free webinar will be presented on 2 August 2018 at 2pm EDT.

Senior Microbiologist, Katherine Harrell Hawley, and Microbiologist III & Lab Coordinator, Jesse Turmenne, of Microban Products Company, will speak to odour control technologies to use, what factors to take into consideration when selecting a solution as well as dismissing pervasive industry misconceptions on the effectiveness and durability of various odour control treatments used on outdoor apparel, footwear and gear. The presentation will also educate buyers on testing standards and protocols and why testing standards are sometimes altered.

“Oftentimes businesses are overwhelmed by how many odour control technologies are available in the marketplace and we hope to alleviate decision making by educating our listeners on some common misconceptions and assumptions,” said Lisa Owen, vice president of global textiles, Microban International. “After leaving this webinar the hope is attendees will have expert insight that makes them feel confident in finding the right solutions for their products.”

The free Identifying Odour Control Myths – Solutions, Standards and Testing Pitfalls webinar is developed for product managers, developers and marketers that work in footwear, apparel and home textiles. Attendees can expect to learn how to identify odour control myths, solutions and testing – what odour control solutions are currently available in the marketplace, how testing methods are modified and other factors in the odour control industry.

Over the course of her eight-year tenure at Microban, Hawley has been instrumental in supporting various successful research projects and collaborating with partners in the liquids, textiles and polymer industries.

Turmenne conducts microbiological research and testing with a focus in supporting the innovations team to develop next generation products and services along with coordinating the lab to maintain a high throughput of samples to support Microban’s customers, seeing more than 40,000 test samples annually.

With high-profile brand partners, including Calvin Klein, Fila, Teva, Reebok, Puma, Terramar Sports, New Balance, Spanx, Under Armour/All Star Sports, Hook&Tackle, Curad and 5.11 Tactical, Microban’s portfolio of textile odour control technologies include AEGIS, Scentry, Scentry ReviveSilverShield and ZPTech.
