“During three unique panels and a keynote presentation, attendees will explore both the opportunities and the challenges facing our world as we look to mirror nature’s own closed-loop system. Evolving the linear economic model of “take, make, waste,” attendees will rethink how we extract, use and repurpose resources to help invite circularity and ultimately bring our planet into balance,” Milliken said today.

“ The topics and discussions will draw from National Geographic magazine’s March issue cover story, The End of Trash, which takes an in-depth look at how we can extract value from most of the trash we now discard.”

Milliken & Company President and CEO Halsey M. Cook will participate in the Leading Disruption panel, a panel of CEOs exploring the barriers and enablers of a circular economy.

The event takes place on Wednesday, 26 February, at 3:00 p.m - Leading Disruption panel to begin at 4:00 p.m.

“As part of our 2025 sustainability goals, Milliken & Company is committed to accelerating the conversation around the plastics end-of-life challenge. By exchanging ideas and principles surrounding the circular economy and plastics’ key role in closing the loop, Milliken is taking clear steps towards redefining sustainability in a manufacturing context with impacts across all the industries Milliken serves,” the company said.

“In addition to sustainable manufacturing methods, Milliken intentionally sources fibres made with recycled content, like REPREVE fibres made from plastic water bottles. In the textiles industry specifically, Milliken has diverted 1.5 billion plastic bottles from landfill through products like our Polartec outdoor apparel fabrics.”
