PHD Chamber is organising a national seminar on ‘Innovation & Technology Advancement – Growth Mantra for Textile Industry’ on Friday, 2 August, at the PHD House, New Delhi.
The conference will provide an interactive platform for industry, trade associations, academia, policy makers and research institutes across the globe to deliberate on cutting-edge research and share market information.
It will focus on the emerging and cutting-edge advancements in the frontier areas of textiles, machinery, nonwoven and technical textiles. A special emphasis is put on the entire value-chain of textiles, from fibre to fashion fabric, and apparel fabric to technical textiles.
Main objective of the seminar are:
- Government Initiatives for Promotion of Technical Upgradation in India, its limitation and opportunities
- Suitable strategy for the development of advancement of technology in textiles in India
- Bringing academicians, researchers and industry together to discuss the growth potential of the sector and seek areas of co-operation and investment
- To increase the business opportunities associated with this sector
- To increase the awareness of the technological innovation amongst the consumer and user industry
SIMA has pointed out that India’s global textile share is 5%, which is far less than that of China, which is 34%. Even the emerging opportunities for the Indian textile industry due to recent unstable situations in Bangladesh and growing demand for cotton yarn and fabrics in China must take the government attention for the modernisation of processing, spinning, weaving, garmenting and technical textiles segments, where there is good scope for massive employment generation and value-addition.
