Milan-based CLASS – Creativity Lifestyle And Sustainable Synergy – the international eco-hub which since 2007 has been advocating for a new generation of fashion, has been joined by California’s Circular Systems.

Circular Systems is a materials science company focused on circular regenerative technologies which provide systemic solutions for transforming waste into valuable fibres yarns and fabrics for the fashion industry.

It is viewing textile waste and agricultural residues that are often burned, left to rot in the fields, or sent to landfills as valuable resources, turning a problem into a solution by converting them into high value materials for the fashion industry.

Three break-through Circular Systems waste-to-fibre platforms are aimed at offereing the most efficient management of textile and agricultural waste:

-Agraloop refines natural fibres derived from agricultural crops. Via a specialised processing technique, cellulose fibres from stems and leaves are purified into soft fibre bundles ready to spin into yarns.  Agraloop processes leftovers from various food and medicine crops including, oilseed hemp/flax, CBD hemp, banana and pineapple.

-Orbital hybrid yarns create high-quality materials using organic and recycled fibre inputs. Orbital’s patent-pending technology produces inherent wicking and fast dry performance materials, even with 50%-70% natural fibre composition, eliminating the need for chemical finishes to create high-performance fabrics.

-Texloop Recycling produces a high-quality GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified recycled cotton fibre called RCOT. Texloop preserves fibre quality for the next generation of recycled materials and blends with GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified organic cotton and Canopy-approved man-made cellulosics to create near virgin quality yarns for knitting and weaving.

“We are really pleased to introduce Circular Systems as a new partner,” said Giusy Bettoni, CEO and founder of CLASS. “It will be an important additional choice we offer to the market to develop a new generation of fashion based on natural, circular and regenerative solutions.”

All Circular Systems yarns are GRS, OCS and/or GOTS certified and the company is in the process of developing its own Crop Residue Standard with the Textile Exchange for its Agraloop platform.

“We are interested in leveraging the excellent team and platform of C.L.A.S.S. to build production partnerships with integral manufacturers in the EU supply chain and offer these products to brands across the region,” said Isaac Nichelson, CEO and co-founder of Circular Systems. “Circular Systems has a complete 360-degree marketing and communications package for its Agraloop, Orbital and Texloop hybrid materials brands that integrate directly into the marketing strategies of brand partners.”
