VPW GmbH, the Stuttgart-based company, has become the new licensee for Völkl Performance Wear, by assuming global rights from Marker Völkl International GmbH in Baar. The long-term license agreement involves the development, production and sale of ski and snowboard garments under the Völkl Performance Wear label.
Robert Schlagenhauf, who had previously served for many years as Division Manager Apparel & Accessories for Völkl Performance Wear, has been appointed as Managing Director at VPW. In his new role, Schlagenhauf will focus on continuity in working with employees, partners, producers and customers.
"The quality and functionality of Völkl Performance Wear will remain at the highest level," commented Robert Schlagenhauf. The same team in Germany will continue designing and developing the collection. While Robert Schlagenhauf and his team are working to establishing their own sales structure for central Europe, they will also maintain their partnerships with the established sales organizations at Marker, Dalbello and Völkl.
Stronger growth
In buying the licensing rights, VPW has also cleared the path for its own entry into the garment field: in recent years, Völkl Performance Wear has developed into a coveted brand for teams, ski clubs and snow professionals.
"The strong all-round feedback from these demanding customer segments forms a good basis for even stronger growth at specialty stores. This also includes ongoing expansion of our existing strategic partnerships with Toray and 3M," said Schlagenhauf.
